#MigrantWorkers We should stop trying to become wiser post the event.

Those currently showing so much of concern for migrant workers must answer, was #LockDown needed, when #LockDown 1.0 was announced on 24th march & could they anticipate lockdown continuing for so long? If some of them feel so wise now, they should answer, if they were placed in decision making process for #LockDown 1.0, what would they have done to mitigate anticipated hardship of migrant workers? In India, there are several crores of migrant workers working in different parts of the country, would these wiser people have waited for several months before resorting to #Lockdown on 24th march bcoz moving these millions of migrant workers safely with social distancing criterion would have taken at least a month or two. Was India on 24th march, ready for waiting for #Lockdown for so many days/months?

Fact is, becoming wise after the event is nothing uncommon and new  and same is happening now. Fact of the matter is #LockDown was urgently needed when it was announced on 24th march. We all thought, lockdown would end soon but it didn't happen. Also, protecting villages from corona infection was/is bigger concern for all the governments and hence all the responsible state governments want(ed) to avoid it to maximum extent. Also, governments would have earlier thought that industry might start working sooner and hence let migrant workers stay put at their working locations instead of being sent  to their native places.

In fact, all the above would have been the considerations, why the migrant workers were not moved initially and are being moved now. Most importantly, when #LockDown 1.0 was announced, our top focus was preparedness for coping up with situation we are in today. At that point of time, we had abysmal corona testing kits/testing facilities, PPEs, dedicated covid hospitals, quarantine centres etc.,  however today we are much better prepared, if not fully prepared to fight corona than what situation, we were in on 24th march. At this point of time, we realize, corona is going to stay much longer and hence we have to learn to live with it and that's what we are doing now. Despite lockdown, many areas have been opened, migrant workers are being given choice to go back their homes.

In a nutshell, all the governments, central as well as State, have been doing their best since day 1 of lockdown and they continue to do their best for the health as well as  economic needs of their people and hence we should exercise restraint and co-operate with our governments, instead of becoming hypercritical of them.

Clamour for lifting of Lockdown begins.

Is the clamour  out of genuine concern or same is actuated by some hidden agenda of  the lobby consisting of so called  liberals, intellectuals, urban naxals?

Yesterday Prashant Bhushan advocated for lifting lockdown because there is hardly any death due to corona. Today Pawan Verma in TOI  writes that Lockdown is not meant for poor countries like India because Lockdown is leading to starvation of poor in India. Rajdeep Sardesai also looks upset with #Lockdown because it is affecting poor. These are few examples but fact of the matter is that large number of liberals, intellectuals, urban naxals have been raising similar kind of concern and are subtly trying to  create a kind of environment so that everybody starts opposing the Lockdown.

But why the Lobby is doing so and what is their hidden agenda?

We should know that the above-said  lobby  of liberals, intellectuals, urban naxals are always opposed to Modi Govt. They have to oppose, whatever Modi Govt may do. When lockdown was announced, they said, why lockdown was announced so late, when first corona case was found in India on 30th January? When lockdown was successfully going on and was showing good results and when un-coperative attitude of Tabligi Jamaat and their followers, all of a sudden spiked corona cases in India, the lobby came to rescue of Jamaat and their followers by constantly saying that no community should be attached stigma because of spike in corona cases. Now, again, when despite severe non cooperation of Jamaat and their followers, India has been able to contain corona cases to an appreciable level so that efforts of PM Modi led govt are being appreciated worldwide, frustration of the lobby has heightened. Now, they are finding too difficult to tolerate the situation, wherein, despite severe lockdown, there is not much of unrest against the govt and barring Jamaat and their followers, everybody is cooperating with lockdown and situation in India is getting applauded worldwide.

Due to the above, the Lobby is trying to give another spin to the lockdown, suggesting that since Lockdown is hurting poor, it should be lifted immediately.

My request to lobby is to shun their hidden agenda. All sensible and impartial people feel lockdown is the need of the hour, Govt pro actively announced the lockdown before situation became critical. Lockdown has certainly severely curtailed the potential lakhs of cases of corona. Central Govt and all state governments are being sensible. They know the need of balancing health and economic needs of people and depending upon the situation, they have been giving much needed relaxations too in a phased manner. Central and State Governments are responsible to health and economic needs of the people. They have been sensibly trying to balance both needs of the people by continuing with lockdown and at the same time giving certain relaxations in a phased manner to help meet practical and  economic needs of the people and hence they be allowed to take their own decisions about lifting the lockdown instead of unnecessarily trying to  interfere with the same to help fulfill their hidden agenda.
